When I stand in front of a scene, I’m not just painting what I see; I’m painting what I feel. It's not about capturing a tree or a hill just because it’s there. It’s more about how those shapes, lines, and colors come together on the canvas. The way the sky meets the land, the way the colors play off each other—that's what really matters.
More Than What Meets the Eye
With “Gleesome Saunter over Fields,” I didn’t set out to make a picture of a field. I wanted to put down the feeling of being in that space, the energy of the earth, and the way the sky felt heavy yet full of life. Using a palette knife helped me create those thick, textured strokes that bring out the rawness of the moment.
Finding the Flow
I think painting is about finding a flow, a connection between what’s out there and what’s inside. When you look at this piece, I hope you feel the movement, the breeze that you can’t see, the dance of colors that almost makes the field come alive. It’s not just a scene; it’s an experience, a journey across the canvas.
