Living just a few blocks from the ocean has its perks. One of my favorite things to do is head down to the shore when it's stormy. There's something about feeling the wind and rain coming off the ocean that just gets the creative juices flowing. "Wind Blows North" is a reflection of those stormy days. It's about capturing the raw, primal forces of nature and translating them onto canvas.

The Abstract Expressionist Approach

I like to think of my work as tapping into the subconscious. Abstract expressionism is all about letting go and allowing the paint to guide you. For this piece, I used aggressive brushstrokes and splatters to convey the chaotic energy of a storm. The colors are bold and dynamic, with splashes of yellow, black, and white against a blue background. It's messy, it's wild, and fun to paint.

Finding Life's Beauty in Chaos

“Wind Blows North” Abstract art is 8” x 10” acrylic on unstretched canvas.

"Wind Blows North" isn't just about a storm. It's about the feeling of being alive, of standing on the edge of something powerful and uncontrollable. It's about embracing the chaos and finding beauty in it. When I look at this piece, I see movement, energy, and a sense of freedom. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life come from letting go and riding the wave.

Connecting with the Primal Forces

The theme of this piece is all about nature's power and our connection to it. There's something primal about standing in the wind and rain, feeling the elements against your skin. It's a reminder that we're part of something much bigger than ourselves. This painting is my way of capturing that feeling and sharing it with others.

The Essence of 'Wind Blows Nort

So, there you have it. "Wind Blows North" is a piece that's close to my heart. It's a celebration of nature, chaos, and the beauty that comes from embracing both. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it. And next time there's a storm, maybe take a walk down to the ocean and see what inspiration you can find.
